So the fishing has been a bit tough lately. Not because the fish aren't biting, but because of the heat. Imagine that! Middle of July in South East Texas. Water temp is currently 89-90 deg. That's good for the bass' aggressive metabolism, but tough on human occupancy.
Big Tx-rig worms, like the Zoom Ol' Monster, or my new favorite...the Keitec Mad Wag in Junebug color are getting bit.
There's a bunch of bait balls swimming around the creeks, but finding the bass schooling on them has been difficult. When you do, chunk a fast twitching jerkbait or a small shad style swim bait or underspin.
Get out there EARLY and ware your sunscreen!
BTW, if you come fish with me, we take a mid-day break for lunch and a nice nap before going back out. It's just better that way!
Come Attack the Nac!
