Had a great day on the water with a new friend (Client). Despite some heavy rain, and having to dash back in due to lightning in the area, we managed some good numbers. All but two spots produced some fish. Nothing huge, but solid 2-3 lb'ers all day. A combination of lures did the heavy lifting. Underpins, finesse shaky-heads, and Tx-rig worms got most of the bites. The vast majority of fish were found suspending just above the thermocline... currently about 14ft.
Water temp went from 79deg in the early morning and climbed to 83 by 5pm. Wow! 4deg rise in about 9 hours. Welcome to summer in TX.
Here's a pic of our new friend and fishing buddy, R. Hunter E. with 1 of 23 fish caught today. (We missed about 8 more, dang it!)
