7.29.23 FISHING REPORT

Updated: Aug 11, 2023

I feel like a broken record... heat, no rain, more heat, no rain in sight. Lake is down about a foot. 90 deg surface temp. With the thermocline sitting about 12ft. However, we have been getting bit by some decent numbers and above average size.

The good news is that I'm finally seeing more shad in more places across the lake. This is a good sign that we may be back on the road to "normal". Normal being consistent catches in predictable places. We have been catching some decent sized bass on Tx-rig worms and bandito bugs. When we find them schooling, suspended over deeper water, the typical shad lures are getting it done. Guess what? We still have August and September to get through. Come on cooler weather!!

Here's a quality 5.7lb'er that my regular client, R. S., caught. This fish went 26 inches! Too bad it wasn't February!

Come Attack the Nac!
