May brought some much better fishing despite the HEAVY rains we had. Because of those rainy days, the water was quite dirty and the lake level stayed over full pool for most of the month. This made the square-bill shine. Found a very special lure from a new company in Texas, Cornerstone Baits. High quality components right out of the box, and it catches big fish. Very impressed.
The last weekend we finally found some nice bass around Scout Point. Threw jerkbaits, A-rigs, the R-rig of course and a new technique called "Hover Strolling". The Hover-rig gives the suspending bass a totally different look.
Here's a pic of one of the nice quality bass that the Cornerstone square-bill caught.
