To say that the weather has been crazy, over the last month, would be an understatement. From "snow-magedeon" the snow storm of a generation, to crazy strong winds, we've had everything but a hurricane. I could go on and on about the wild weather, but let's get to fishing.
The spawn is on. The bucks have moved up and some of the girls have gotten in bed. There are still A LOT of females waiting their turn and in their "parade mode". We have an over abundance of grass this year so its a bit tough to bed fish. If you find them, chunk a creature bait, craw, or lizard with tons of patience. These bed fish aren't really eating, but rather, just moving your offering away from their protected area. So, watch your line carefully. You might not feel them pick it up, but you'll definitely see your line running away. BAM!
If bed fishing is not your bag, you can throw a Fluke, Keitec, or a small square bill crankbait just off shore. Thats where the girls-on-parade should be.
The little amount of fishing I've been able to do has been tough, though I hear reports of good catches here and there. As always, you can't catch'em if you don't throw'em. So come Attack the Nac!
Here's our new friend, Caden, with a nice solid fish:
Hey I know that kid! Thank you Eric for everything. You’re awesome. 🎣
