E.O.Y. REVIEW: What a crazy year, it was. If you look back, the wild weather was most of the story. The rest of the story was the boat, and all the troubles and upgrades that were done. Going all lithium, chart plotters with new mounts, and even a new trolling motor, were all part of the upgrades. Troubles include bilge pump, trim motor assembly replacement, transducer failure, trolling motor issues, and those are just the big ticket stuff. B.O.A.T. = Bust Out Another Thousand. Truth.
In spite of the weather and boat issues, we did have a good year. A few new techniques found some success. Drop-shots were NOT something I wanted to do, but dang if it don't work quite well. The Wobble-head became a very good replacement for the ol' Tx-rig. And the Megabass Kirashi surprised me with how well it worked after the under-spin became over used out here.
The typical Fall bite wasn't spectacular this go'round. Mostly due to all TON of rain, but the boat troubles attributed to this, as well. We did get one fish to the boat, by a client, that should have broken the boat record, but we just missed grabbing that fish before she shook off that deep-diving crankbait. BOO!!! SO close.
I am proud to say that I had 3 different clients say that they had the best guide trip of their lives, aboard my boat. That is a GREAT compliment, and really drives me to keep doing this. So, let's see what 2025 brings. Hopefully, the boat won't break the bank this year, as it certainly did in '24. Regardless, I'll keep chunkin' n windin' and report my monthly findings.
God blessed me to have this opportunity. All I want to do is make the best of it, and make HIM proud. Here's to a successful 2025! Cheers 🍻
Thanks to @CornerstoneBaits, I'm ready for just about anything!
