With the lake turnover happening in sections...mostly finished except in the deepest main lake area, the bite has been a bit tough. Lots of factors are contributing to this. Weather patterns have had steady high pressure with the occasional cold front. Once we get fronts to come in with some lower temps and cloud cover, the bite should be more consistent.
The typical baits will still shine from now until March:
1. Deep diving crankbait in 15-18 feet over roadbeds and creek channels.
2. Jerkbait for those suspended bass ambushing shad over any depth
3. Underpins for the finicky bite.
4. Square bill crankbait for shallower fish in and around the timber. Its 4WD.
If you get on a school of bigger fish, try a glide bait or large swimbait slow rolled.
The colder the water, the more this can work for you.
No matter what... you can't catch'em if you don't throw'em!
Come Attack the Nac!
